Highlights
Join us on a relaxed 2-hour photography walking experience, taking in the industrial heritage and waterfront of Chatham Maritime, accompanied by a local historian as well as a professional photographer. We will start at the former Naval Base, now a university campus, and photograph the maritime and industrial heritage surrounding us. We’ll take you on flat route, to the shipyards of the Historic Dockyard Chatham, to shoot the huge dock basins which separate St Mary’s Island from the ‘mainland’. This experience will help you to understand the strange and murky history of this island and locate the only part of Kent where you can get both the Elizabethan and the Norman castles of Upnor and Rochester in one shot. We will stop for coffee and cake at a locally renowned, independently run café along the way.
